With spring right around the corner, we’ve compiled a short list of our favorite nature spots to explore in the Greater Leland and Wilmington areas! From educational activities for the kids to hiking on the trails with friends and family, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in the great outdoors, so tune-in to nature this spring!
- One of the best spots in Wilmington for walking trails, bird watching and fun for the kids is Halyburton Park! With programs like the Little Explorer’s League and regularly scheduled Bird Hikes, learn about native creatures and wildlife while you take in the beauty of the park.
- Airlie Gardens, a popular attraction dating back to the 1800s, is a fantastic way to take in the natural beauty of coastal North Carolina. With ample walking trails, sweeping Intracoastal vistas, tour and tram guided tours and a butterfly house, there are plenty of opportunities to connect with nature!
- Right here in Brunswick County, the Brunswick Nature Park is 900 acres filled with a mix of wildlife, vegetation and ecosystems for you to explore! It is also great for canoeing, kayaking and various outdoor activities. Plus, it’s only 10 miles from beautiful Brunswick Forest!
- If you want to stay closer to home, Brunswick Forest has over 100 miles of walking, biking and nature trails and outdoor amenities around our community, making it easy for you to tune-in to nature.
