• Clyde Edgerton, born and raised in North Carolina, this Creative Writing Professor at UNC-Wilmington has authored several books…Raney, Walk Across Egypt, Killer Diller, The Bible Salesman and most-recently Papadaddy’s Book for New Fathers, outlining the nuances and “pot-holes” of parenting!
• If you want to know more about Surfing on the Cape Fear Coast, just pick up Joseph “Skipper” Funderburg‘s book.  Skipper grew up on the Cape Fear Coast and knows all the best surf spots, what board you should surf where and just about anything else water-related!!
• Fanny Slater, Wilmington resident and winner of Rachael Ray’s Great American Cookbook Competition, always dreamt of writing her own cookbook, so that’s just what she did!!  Fanny created recipe after recipe, fine tuning through each step of the competition until she WON…creating Orange, Lavender & Figs: Deliciously Different Recipes from a Passionate Eater!
• The last local author is a beloved Brunswick Forest resident, Elaine Colton.  Elaine penned a memoir called The Newport Girls chronicling her time growing up in Rhode Island and the amazing bonds she made there that have carried her through to her present day life in Brunswick Forest.
