We’re kicking off 2025 in full gear as Brunswick Forest hits the road! The Ideal-Living Real Estate Shows are just around the corner, offering three opportunities this year to meet with us. We’ll be visiting New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., and we hope to see you there!

So, What is an Ideal-Living Real Estate Show?

Great question! The Ideal-Living Real Estate Shows are fantastic events for anyone considering relocating or retiring. They give you a chance to explore various communities from the comfort of your own hometown. At these shows, communities from all over the country (and even beyond) come together to introduce themselves, share information about their homes and amenities, and help you get a feel for the area. Whether you’re just a couple of years away from moving or ready to pack your bags now, this is a must-attend event for anyone planning to relocate. After all, relocation isn’t just about finding the perfect home—it’s about finding the perfect community too!

Tell Me More About This Process

Glad you asked! Our favorite way to help people understand the relocation process is by using what we like to call “The Margarita Theory.” Sounds refreshing, right?

Step 1: The Area

Picture a margarita glass. The wide brim represents the area you’re considering for your new home. “Location, Location, Location” is a phrase you’ve probably heard, and for good reason—it’s your starting point! Before you dive into specific communities, think about the broader area. Do you prefer coastal living or the mountains? Larger cities or more rural settings? What is your ideal climate? Are taxes a consideration? Is traffic a factor? These are all important factors to weigh when narrowing down your options. After all, the perfect home in the wrong location is not the perfect home!

Step 2: The Community

Now that you’ve identified the area, it’s time to focus on the community. What kind of neighborhood suits your lifestyle? If you enjoy an active lifestyle, amenities like pickleball, golf, or a fitness center might be high on your list. If a resort lifestyle is more your speed, a pool could be a must-have. For those who want to spend less time on upkeep, a low-maintenance community might be the way to go—where homes are designed for easy living, and lawn care is included. And if making new friends is a priority, look for a community that offers resident events and social programs. There’s a neighborhood for everyone, depending on what’s important to you.

Step 3: The Home

Once you’ve found the perfect area and community, it’s time to focus on the home. There are many ways to buy—whether it’s purchasing a move-in ready home, selecting a home/lot package, or buying your lot to reserve your spot and building when you’re ready.

Okay, You Have My Interest… What Should I Expect?

At the Ideal-Living Real Estate Show, you’ll meet representatives from communities all across North Carolina, as well as states like Tennessee, Delaware, and Florida, and even communities from outside the U.S.! Each community will have a booth set up, allowing you to get a feel for the area and the lifestyle. You can ask questions, get to know each community, and start narrowing down your options. Once you find a few communities you like, you can plan your visit to see them in person.

In addition to the community showcases, there will also be helpful seminars hosted by relocation experts. These sessions cover hot topics and frequently asked questions, providing valuable insights for those planning to relocate.
