People Teeing off at Cape Fear National Golf Course

Spring is almost upon us and we are already off to a great 2016.  Last year the golf course received 75″ of rain, the 2nd wettest year ever in this area – the Wilmington area averages 55″ of rain each year. With a wet year behind us, we will be adding drainage to the fairways this month; we will also put down our pre-emergent towards the end of the month to control summer annual weeds.  The green tracker dye you will see in the rough is a post-emergent herbicide application to control winter weeds.  We look forward to seeing everyone on the course in February! ~ Paul Hughes, Superintendent
