We’re back again for the “Lunch Lover” edition of our Restaurant Spotlight series! Whether you’re skipping out of the office for your lunch break, meeting close friends for an afternoon of food and cocktails, or looking to expand on your current restaurant list; we’ve compiled a list of our favorite lunch spots in Downtown Wilmington.

Chops Deli

Leading the lunch-pack in awards, Chops has been voted by Encore readers as the Best Lunch, Best Deli, Best Sub/Sandwich Shop, and Best Homemade Soup in Wilmington for 2017. Adding this year’s awards to their growing collection, Chops Deli has continued to grow and evolve while still maintaining true to their customer-first commitment. Indulge in one of the Chops classics, such as the Marseille, filled with maple glazed chicken, french brie, spring mix, tomatoes, and cajun remoulade on a french baguette. Also offering wraps, salads, and homemade soup and mac n’ cheese of the day, Chops is a one stop shop for the lunch lover in all of us.

Copper Penny

Topping our list of best all-around spots in downtown Wilmington, Copper Penny’s menu, atmosphere and service exceeds expectations and offers something for every type of diner. Named the 2017 Best Sports Bar in Wilmington by Encore readers, you can find this Eagles bar busy during almost any sports season. Boasting an expansive menu of appetizers, salads and sandwiches, Copper Penny’s eclectic but affordable menu is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, or drinks with friends.

Fork N Cork

Quickly gaining attention and traction in the local community, Fork N Cork started out as The Patty Wagon Food Truck in 2011. Setting roots in the heart of downtown in 2014, they’ve expanded their menu to offer some of the best comfort/bar food in Wilmington. Combining the best ingredients with some high end twists, choose from one of their famous burgers or sandwiches, or warm up with their hearty mac n’ chz or pot pie of the day. Expanding their reach to the brunch scene, Fork N Cork boasts a delicious and popular menu for the weekend diner as well.

Savorez

Spanish for flavors, Savorez stands out among the rest for their traditional Latin American Cuisine. Utilizing fresh, local ingredients, this unique dining experience is an essential stop for foodies that enjoy true Latin fare. Executive Chef & Owner, Sam Cahoon, combined his palate for flavors and colors with a unique vision of art, music, and community to create this one-of-a-kind restaurant just outside the heart of downtown Wilmington.
