PARK AND RIDE LOT OPENS AT BRUNSWICK FOREST

Brunswick Forest is going green(er!)

A “Park and Ride” lot opened in front of the Lowe’s Foods grocery store in The Villages at Brunswick Forest last month. The new lot joins two other lots which opened in Leland, one at the Food Lion on Mt. Misery Road and one at the new Leland Town Hall.

The lot is designed for commuters who wish to carpool in to Wilmington and features reserved parking spaces and it is located along Wave Transit’s Brunswick Connector bus route. Commuters are encouraged to find carpools through the state sponsored ShareTheRideNC.org website.

Local employers have been encouraged to promote participation in the Park and Ride program among their employees. Employers involved in discussions about the new Brunswick County Park and Ride program are New Hanover Regional Medical Center, UNCW, PPD, New Hanover County Schools and Cape Fear Community College.

For Brunswick Forest residents, this new program is not only a wonderful way to honor the environment and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions, but also another convenient way to get around Leland and in to Wilmington!
