From the Wilson Center’s PNC Broadway Series to Wilmywood or the latest exhibit at the Cameron Art Museum, the Cape Fear Region is home to a burgeoning cultural scene featuring world class artists. But with It’s All Art, residents of Brunswick Forest don’t have to look further than home for a fine arts experience.

From June 1st to June 3rd, the Art League of Leland (ALL) is set to host its much-anticipated annual juried art exhibition and sale at the Leland Cultural Arts Center (LCAC). Free and open to the public, the gallery will feature the arts and crafts of many local artists, with a majority of them being from Brunswick Forest.

The Art League of Leland

Originally formed to provide artists with resources to meet like-minded souls and hone their crafts, The ALL has grown many times its original size and is one of the largest organizations that supports the arts in Southeastern North Carolina. These days, in addition to their annual show, the ALL hosts monthly meetings for artists and art lovers alike. Monthly meetings include presentations by local artists spanning diverse genres from quilling to photography and social events.

What’s New for 2023

This year’s exhibition promises a captivating and diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, mixed media, and more. From traditional landscapes that celebrate the flora and fauna of our unique coastal environment (where else can you paint Venus fly traps in plain air?!) and abstract pieces that challenge your imagination, there is something for everyone to marvel at. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the immense talent and dedication of these incredible artists.

While past exhibitions have taken place in Brunswick Forest’s Fitness Center & Wellness Center, this year’s change of venue to LCAC speaks to the growth of ALL, its beloved position in the Cape Fear’s cultural scene, and the strength of the artists’ work. For 2023, Rick Conn, the Program Chair of Visual Arts at Cape Fear Community College will be the official exhibition juror. In addition to jurying artwork submitted for the exhibition, he will select artwork for cash awards and special recognition.
