Family Dog Naturals Celebrates 10 Years
From our network of more than 100 miles of walking trails to our lush green spaces, Brunswick Forest is not just a dream home for active adults, but active pets as well. Which is why we are so excited to celebrate Family Dog Naturals’ 10th anniversary with owners and Brunswick Forest residents, Betsy and David Head.
Where It All Started
Betsy has worked in animal wellness and nutrition for well over 20 years. Before relocating to Leland in 2012, David worked in the restaurant business for more than 30 years. Combined, the duo has over 50 years experience in retail customer service but a lifetime of love for animals and their well being through proper nutrition.
The Heads originally opened Family Dog Naturals in the Waterford shopping center, however after 3 years of consistent growth, it became clear that the shop needed to expand and found a new home in The Villages. “With such a growing area,” Betsy Head explains, “it seems we make new four-legged (and two legged) friends every day.
What kept the Waterford and Brunswick Forest customers coming back for more? Well, the dogs were definitely in it for the treats (the friendly and knowledgeable staff always have a supply of delectable natural treats behind the counter for any furry friends that stop by). But for the pet parents, it was their dedication to customer service and animal wellness. “We really enjoy helping to educate and take the time to show pet parents how their animals can thrive from eating healthy foods and supplements. We think it makes all the difference in the world,” says Head.

And their commitment has paid off. In fact, Family Dog Naturals has been voted the best local pet supply store for the past 4 years running. “We have worked hard for our customer’s loyalty and are grateful that they allow us to help guide them in their animal’s longevity,” says Head.
