Brunswick Forest

At Brunswick Forest, you don’t have to travel far to catch the excitement of live sporting events! Southeastern North Carolina is home to two great professional sports teams, the Wilmington Hammerheads soccer team, and the Wilmington Sharks baseball team. The area’s mild climate also makes it an ideal location for professional races, marathons and triathlons, which are abundant in the spring and fall. Don’t miss an opportunity to enjoy these live sporting events all year when you decide to become a resident of Brunswick Forest!

The Wilmington Hammerheads is the city’s professional soccer team. The Hammerheads compete in the Eastern Conference of the United Soccer League and play their home games at Wilmington’s Legion Stadium Complex. Catch a home game this summer through mid-September. For a full schedule of games, visit the Hammerheads’ website.

Wilmington’s official baseball team, the Wilmington Sharks, play their home games at the Buck Hardee Field at the Legion Stadium Complex. The Sharks are part of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer baseball league that features top college players from around the nation. General admission to a Sharks game is only $8.00 with group discounts available, so gather your friends and neighbors this summer and head out to the ballpark!

Wilmington and Leland are also home to a number of races like the Plantation Building Corp Half Marathon and 5K which was held this past May right in Brunswick Forest. Other popular races include the Beach to Battleship Full and Half Iron Distance Triathlon, the Wrightsville Beach Marathon, and countless area 5K races like the Wilma Dash, the Zombie Run and the Color Me Rad race.
