GET INVOLVED WITH THE ARTS

August 13, 2012
Brunswick Forest

Culturally rich and packed full of art and music are just a few ways to describe the Wilmington area, located just minutes from the Brunswick Forest community. Tracie Jernigan, a Brunswick Forest resident who moved with her family from Texas says, “It was so important to find a place with an active culture and a way to get involved,” and they found that in the Wilmington art and music scene.

Wilmington Symphony Orchestra

“Music has always been a big part of my life” says Tracie, who teaches piano lessons at her home in Brunswick Forest and is a board member for the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. “Whether it’s beautifully performed symphonic music, hearing a roar of applause following the opening act, or becoming immersed in a piece of artwork, this area has it all!”

The Wilmington Symphony Orchestra is a great way to get involved in the arts scene and presents the community with a gathering place for interaction and enrichment. The ensemble, led by conductor, Dr. Steven Errante, takes pride in the ability to showcase local Wilmington talent. Tracie along with other board members love being involved with the Symphony and enjoy the performances throughout the year.

“It is a great volunteer opportunity and a great way to get involved in Wilmington’s cultural community,” states Tracie. If you are interested volunteer opportunities with the Orchestra, visit their website for more informationwww.wilmingtonsymphony.org/volunteer.html.
