Brunswick Forest and Tribute Homes celebrated the launch of their partnership in a big way: by hosting golf legend Fuzzy Zoeller at Brunswick Forest’s premier golf course, Cape Fear National. Famous for winning the Master’s Tournament in 1979, Zoeller is one of only three golfers who won that championship the first time playing the Augusta course. He is also a U.S. Open winner and has a number of PGA tour wins.

“In 2010, we opened Cape Fear National with Bobby Clampett, and five years later, we were fortunate to have another Hall of Fame golfer like Fuzzy Zoeller here to celebrate our new relationship with Tribute Homes,” says Jerry Helms, Director of Sales at Brunswick Forest. “We are excited to have Tribute Homes join our elite builder team and help us provide our customers with more home and lifestyle options.

At the event, Zoeller signed autographs and entertained the crowd of eager fans with stories about his experiences playing golf with greats like Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. He offered advice on the game, such as how new golfers should begin playing from 100 yards in and should practice putts from one foot away from the cup instead of hitting from further out. He also offered helpful tips, like how to look for the bend in the grass when putting, and how the angle of the grass follows the falling sun. Zoeller also mentioned that putts will break following the flow of natural bodies of water, regardless of the slope of the green. “Fuzzy had some great tips for our guests, and I think everyone left the experience not only having learned a thing or two, but also having had a really great time,” says Helms. “Fuzzy is down-to-earth and approachable, just like we aim to be at Brunswick Forest. We have an award-winning golf course and beautiful clubhouse, but the atmosphere here isn’t stuffy or pretentious. Our course is a public course, and we welcome anyone to come and play.”

After his talk, Zoeller made a visit to Tribute Homes’ maiden home site within Brunswick Forest and put his stamp of approval on the site and home design. “We spent a few minutes surveying the site plan,” says Helms, “and it really struck me how, for someone who is as animated and jovial as Fuzzy is, he became very quiet and sincere after we showed him the plans. He expressed his genuine admiration of the design and the views of the course from the site.” Helms continues, “At Cape Fear National, our goal has always been to make sure that the home sites did not take away from the golf experience, and that the course was laid out in harmony with the neighborhood. Fuzzy was truly impressed with how our developer balanced the golf course and living experience. When you consider his career and the golf courses he has seen, and how he has also been involved with golf course design himself, we regard this as very high praise for us, and for Tribute Homes.”

Tribute Homes is one of the country’s highest rated private home builders for customer satisfaction. They have more than 125 years of land development and home-building experience, and they specialize in high quality, custom homes. “We are proud to be working with Tribute Homes,” says Helms. “Their tagline ‘Raise Your Expectations’ fits in nicely with our philosophy here at Brunswick Forest. We continue to raise our own expectations, and we look for partnerships with businesses that allow us to offer a premium living experience.”

The Tribute Homes site is located within Cape Fear National, Brunswick Forest’s premier address that features custom homes in an exclusive, secluded section of the community. Cape Fear National has some of Brunswick Forest’s largest home sites, averaging around a half-acre in size, and offering spectacular views of the golf course and the surrounding natural area. Construction on the Tribute Homes site will begin soon and the home will be available for viewing by summer 2015.
